At first I pulled up to the Hojoe motel, it looked dated on the outside, but the room is immaculate and up to date. It only costed $65 bucks, so it probably makes the boss happier than the $200 per nite I spent at Hopiday Inn Express in San Diego. Did a Google search on HoJoe's. Didn't realize they were part of the Wyndham family of properties. Happy to hear of your company's efforts to keep you safe and healthy in your other reply. Are you able to find "smoking accommodations" in your accommodation searches? I have not found hardly any smoking rooms available in my vacation travels in recent years.

I visited a store a few days back that makes custom leather goods. The woman there showed me how neat it was to have a magazine pouch on the outside of the holster and tried to convince me to have one made. I explained to her that it looked cute, but for a reload, it is useless to do it all on your strong side for a tactical reload. A few doors down, I met Jay Redfeather, another holster maker. My double mag pouch from him will ride at 8 O’clock.😉 www.cowboyactionshooting.com/jay-redfeather-open-road-cowboy-retail-store/

Even into the 1980s. Since the magazine release was on the bottom of the grip, the pistol was transferred from the right to the left hand. So, a magazine pouch on the outside of the holster made some sense. Clearly, that would not work for a 1911 and most other autoloaders.

Got back from Kentucky late last night, sure is good to home. We're finally moving out to the house today, and I got chores around there to catch up on. Probably some chainsaw work and some mowing.

Won a 1911 off an officer in S Asia, wouldn’t pay up. Told him the last sound you’re gonna hear is something bouncing in your hooch. He payed up, it’s in my chest of drawers.

I had some training that taught me to carry my knife clipped to the "weak side" pocket too. But I just can't get used to it. I've carried it on my strong side too long. I'll reach for my knife on the weak side and it won't be there. It'll find that the last time I used it, I clipped it on the strong side without thinking.

I carried a Kershaw Leek in my left pocket dress pants at my jub for the last 20 years. It was like part of my body. It took me a year to switch to the right side, but now pulling my Ganzo automatic and hitting the button is, automatic! 😁 🔪

I don't see either one in my knife collection. I kinda remember losing it years back. I like Kershaws, CRKT, Gerber. For several years I carried a Gerber F.A.S.T Draw. Wore it out and bought another. For the last year I've been carrying a Gerber Flitch. It's an inexpensive knife. Takes a great edge fast, but goes dull fairly fast too. Must be a softer alloy.

Sorry that i missed your post. Unless I stay at a casino, smoking on property is spotty at best let alone a smoking room. Having said that, although the casinos allow smoking on the property, smoking rooms can be scarce. I really don't have a problem with that, most properties will allow smoking somewhere. I am staying at a rodeway sutes in Blythe Ca. and they have smoking rooms that don't smell like smoke! I would have figured that California would not allow it. On a sidenote, I stayed in a Hampton inn in Prescott Az. a few days ago and wanted to go into the pool. I smoked my pipe with a cigar smoker and had a clear view of the pool. No less than 40 adults and kids were in the pool area where no drinks were allowed in the pool area. I saw all the adults consuming beverages for few hours, and them with their kids never once went to the restroom which was next to the pool. Needless to say, I passed on the hot tub and pool. Sometimes a quiet, non highly rated hotel is better than the branded hotel where others flock to...this pool has no kids, and I am usually the only one in it and it is my go to place when i am here.

I used the Ganzo to cut the weeds and vines that wrapped around the string mower so tight that it killed the engine, then later I used it to open a tool that was packaged in atomic plastic and nylon wire ties. It didn't seem to be dulled in the least. In fact, I've been using it for a year and haven't had to sharpen it yet. I hate to say it about a Chinese knife, but I think it's the best I've ever had. And I've had them all. Klein, Old Timer, Swiss Army, Cold Steel and a bunch of Kershaws. The Leek was the previous champion, with Klein close behind.

I have two Kershaw Zings, one with a cracked blade, one with a clip that needs to be bent back into place. It doesn't hold my pants pocket tight enough anymore. The Zing is kind of like a Leek, but the blade is wider. I have two SOG Twitch IIs, and a huge SOG Fielder with a wood handle. I use the Fielder as a steak knife. I have a CRKT something or other with an assisted button popper opening mechanism. It's locked until you press the thumb button, and a spring assists it open. It has a partially serrated blade, but the serrations are nasty wide and sharp grooves. I like Gerber knives, but I need to buy one.

Went to the "What are you smoking - June" thread today and couldn't find the "Reply" button. I started thinking, "Oh Sh#t, my remark about California and the San Andreas fault got me blocked", then I realized it was locked because the was now July.

72 degrees, 22 per cent humidity. Sunny. If only. This is the time of year that people with any sense don't go outside in East Texas. I tried to buy a house so that we would be moving in April and May, but they didn't work out. 🔥 🔥 🔥
