.25 being a center fire cartridge also slightly edges the reliability factor by a hair over 22lr. At the end of the day as my grandfather always said beats a stick.

I do not know if statistics still bear it out, but at one time it was said that more civilians were killed with the.22 caliber bullet over others. I had also read that it was a favorite of the mafia.

I read years ago (Mario Puzo I believe) that the ice pick was effective for some time, doctors would chalk it up as an aneurysm.

Folks argue for "Common Sense Gun Control" and then pursue poorly considered law suits like this one.

I have these 1911s. A Taurus and an SA Mil-Spec. I like them both a lot and carry each one, just not at the same time. The faux grips are from Altamont.

Folks argue for " Common Sense Gun Control" and then pursue poorly considered law suits like this one. Most people calling for "common sense control" are liars - or just mouthing the lies told by others. Their agenda is banning guns, not making people safe. Every time there is a mass shooting, the anti-gunners scream for "gun control" - so the real problem never gets addressed. So the result is that the anti-gunners end up preventing meaningful action.

My bare bones Springfield Armory 1911-A1, stock # PW9701 13+1 in the snout. 52 ounces fully loaded, about 5# on the belt with the double mag holder, so it is pretty much used for home defense.

A cat carrying a 50 cal pistol would snort at me, but... I did wear it in Tombstone last time I was there and no one messed with me.

The new owner of the oil change place up the road open carries a Glock every day. The only crime around here is the occasional burglary of someone cooking meth. No parking lot attacks, purse snatching or anything else. Besides, he's about 48, 6'5 and he probably weighs about 220. Anyone looking for trouble wouldn't be looking at him to begin with. I don't know how I made it 70 years without carrying a gun, except for the last couple of years in Houston. There I had reason to be afraid.

All tongue in cheek.
In Arizona, no one gives open carry a second glance for the most part. There are differing opinions on open carry, even on gun forums people oft times say that you make yourself a target. Truth be told, scumbags look for easy pickings, and the last thing they want to deal with is an armed βvictimβ.

The desert we have has different vegetation, so the Ranger was out of his jurisdiction. Although back in the day no one was going to trouble him about it. π Love Marty! π€

I was invited to a fish fry at a friend's Lake club last month which would have been a good time to wear it, but I had to meet a repairman. I have been asked to be on the church security team, but I don't think that I would wear the 44. I would probably wear something I could shoot accurately. I am comfortable with the Remington R51, but it is more for concealed carry. The 45 needs more practice as it's been 45 years since I shot a 1911 regularly. I guess if someone was just driving by the 44 in a drop rig tied down would look intimidating and it would distract from me pulling out the R51. πππ€

Nice cap-gun. Is that an EPS Threepersons? Nope couldn't afford that, but it's from a guy who used to work for them and retired in El Paso. I couldn't afford tooling either. I like it. If I keep the gun maybe in a year or two I can upgrade. This holster was $65. The plain EPS starts at $135 and goes up to $254.
