Boogers ... not really, just seeing if you're paying attention! I know that you really do eat boogers. Just not your own.

Fried Chicken thighs. No batter, just salt and pepper in peanut oil in an iron chicken fryer pan. Slow and good. Chicken thighs are the most flavorful part of the chicken, hands down. End of discussion.

Made progress in the quest for Yorkshire Puddings/ German Babies. They did not fluff up quite the way I wanted owing, most likely, to not enough heat. Still good. Eggy and fluffy. Perfect with Country Ham. Easy to make in a Blender. early bird breakfast specials

Since NO ONE asked, here is the recipe, Dudes!
In a Blender:
3 eggs whipped up, best if room temperature. One cup of milk, room temperature, added slowly while Miser is running, 1 tsp vanilla, Good squeeze of honey from the honey bottle, Optional. 1 cup of flour with one teaspoon each of Baking Powder and Salt, mixed in, Pour in while Mixer is running, slowly.
Muffin tin heated in hot oven (425 degrees). Spray with oil or brush with butter.
Pour in batter filling each "cup".
Bake 20 minutes.
remove, drizzle with melted butter and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Or do not.
Easier than making biscuits and just as satisfying.

Sounds good! I've been making drop biscuits using self-rising flour and it's super quick and easy.

Sounds good! I've been making drop biscuits using self-rising flour and it's super quick and easy. the self Rising does help. The fat cutting in slows me down. I learned an interesting technique. Freeze a cube of butter and grate it into the flour using a coarse cheese grater. Much easier than the two fork method of cutting in.

I’ve been really lazy en la cocina lately. Come din-din I’ve been looking for easy ways out. I usually make my own chili, but tonight I opened a can of Stagg chili and nuked it to eat with tortilla chips. Tried a wrinkle: put a single Hershey chocolate kiss in the middle of the chili. Stirred it up when it came out of the MW. Not too bad. Ersatz molé.

Actually, I never met a can of Chili Con Carne I did not love!

Took Shweetie to Carl Jr’s. Good burger. Didn’t want her to have to try and make supper in a cold house with no lights, heat or stove. Another week without electricity ahead.

I must have missed something. What happened to the power? Another massive windstorm cam through and root-wadded a giant spruce tree and dropped it across the power line going from the transformer to the house, ripping the meter base, breaker box et al plumb off the house.

UGGG! Sorry about that. Not fun. I assume part of the repairs from the meter out to the transformer is the responsibility of your REC? From the Meter to the house, break box, that is up to you?

UGGG! Sorry about that. Not fun. I assume part of the repairs from the meter out to the transformer is the responsibility of your REC? From the Meter to the house, break box, that is up to you? All of the damage done was between the transformer and the house, mostly on the house itself. REC’s responsibility stops at the transformer. So the landlord is paying a contractor to rebuild everything. Whenever that gets done, he has to call for an inspection. Whenever we finally get inspected and passed, I have to call the REC and put in a work order for new power lines from transformer to house. It’s a process

Is it not possible to rent a generator where you live? Yes, but the old house isn’t wired for it. I still have screw in fuses. I got one last time this happened, and it ended up all I could do was run an extension cord from the generator to the fridge.
