had to go into Town of Toad today. To get a take away lunch from real restaurants now one has to call ahead and place the order. Arriving their, you call them and they eventually come out with the order. That is a little too complicated for someone not carrying a telephone directory into town. So, that leaves the Fast Food Joints. Today was a Double Baconater and Fries from Wendy's. It was actually better than I remembered.
Still stuffed at 2044 hours so no supper today.

Arriving their, you call them and they eventually come out with the order. That is a little too complicated for someone not carrying a telephone directory into town. So, that leaves the Fast Food Joints. Today was a Double Baconater and Fries from Wendy's. It was actually better than I remembered. Still stuffed at 2044 hours so no supper today. How are the ribs feeling? |

I can lift the right leg off of the throttle pedal to use the brake pedal but still cannot bend it enough to put on socks or shoes. That is a real struggle. Thanks for asking. |

I'll take that as good news, on the whole. As somebody with a bad back, the struggle to put on shoes and socks is familiar to me. I have a pair of boots with speed laces, specifically for when my back's out. Can slip them on standing up, and only have to bend for just a sec to cinch them down. Hope the knee starts improving soon. |

Made a large pot of Potato and Cabbage soup in a base of home made chicken stock and red miso. Added Several Chinese Chicken Dumplings.
So, a bowl of that followed by an open face elk meatloaf sandwich. Living large in northern NM!

Heavy lifting is done with precision and care. Posture. Sleeping position. When it goes bad, it is really bad. So, we limp along with our bag of aching bones and do the best we can. |

Honey-glazed broiled Atlantic salmon with a citrus-onion rub. Steamed broccoli with no seasonings (The Princess was doing an online Wine & Canvas with her mom, sister, and niece, so I went a bit crazy while she wasn't paying attention to how I was cooking!). One G & T followed by a couple "& Ts". Honeycrisp apple for dessert.

Today was thew crab cake with the crawfish etouffee an a blue cheese wedge. That's something I've been meaning to learn how to make. When this whole COVID thing started, the wife and I had a vacation to New Orleans all planned out - last April. We had made reservations for a cooking class there in the French Quarter - to make crawfish etouffee. But we cancelled because of the COVID outbreak. Turned out they were about to call us to cancel it too. |

Chicken fajitas That Ninja countertop machine is coming in handy. Is it the Ninja Foodie? I've got one of those. Nearest thing I can have to a real grill. I've cooked quite a few steaks on it, and it does a surprisingly good job. Kind of great, actually. I just salt-and-pepper them and sock them in there. They're done in 5-7 minutes. Here's a pro tip: for salt, use some of that Maldon's Smoked Salt. You get a surprising amount of smoky flavor from it. Yes, that's it. I love it. Thanks for the tip. That sounds good! I made this meal in it. Air fried the potatoes and garlic bread, then grilled the steak.  |
