For lunch: McDonalds new chicken sandwich - which on another day in another post I said was great. This time not so great. Different location, different day. For dinner: Chicken Cordon Bleu - from Kroger's. Not so great either. I'll have to make my own, I guess. Chicken Cordon Bleu is never great. OK, just not great. Chicken Kiev, done right, that is amazing.

Still playing with bistek jalisco, which I find a very satisfying meal in many ways. With all the game meat I have in the freezers I have no business buying any beef. But the local butcher cuts a very nice, totally lean, top round steak and occasionally I get a craving. Here are some slices of one getting prepped... And plated, lightly garlic salted, peppered and smothered in a medium (store-boughten, alas!) salsa. With a few spears of pickled asparagus. This is actually enough for two meals, and the left-overs will be tomorrow’s lunch. Or maybe even breakfast.

I'm going to give up on the breading and just make a cheese sauce to pour over it.

Heavily doctored Hamburger helper southwest pasta.
Threw onions and garlic in with the meat browning.
Green Chiles and ground cumin in the simmer.
Chopped Cilantro at the end.
Made homemade tortillas though.

Made homemade tortillas though. I always doctor Hamburger Helper and jarred spaghetti sauce. They just give me a starting point. Had baked drumsticks, boiled Redskin potatoes and a salad.

Especially jarred SS... adding ingredients really is a game changer.

just finished clearing the tears away from recent entries of "what wearing" thread, tears of laffing at some of the "sartorial splender" entries...makes my day brighter & thank you all.
Next, Schwan #481 (3) toaster pancakes, one cycle. Add usuals, nuke to plateful of mess. Add k-cup cocoa & all to smoking room, eat & continue with the papers. Have had Keurig system for years now, heard somewhere Keurig working on making the cups recycle-able, hope it happens

I’d imagine you’d save a good amount of $ using them. Kcups add up after a while.

See's Chocolate Candy.
This was a huge event when I was a kid and a box arrived home.
It can be purchased on line but only part of the year. They will not ship during the warmer months.

We had a contract when I worked LTL.... someone at weight watchers sent 40,000 pounds of chocolate bars in our hotbox trailers in the summer. They saved on shipping cost over refrigerated, but on the back end they paid... nuther story.
