I gave the sous-chef the night off and made my own din-din tonight. Had one bison steak left over, so grilled it up. Then made a combo veggie/salad kinda thing. Cut medallions of leek (about 1/4”); added halved black olives; a large dash of pesto; a bit of salt; some cashew halves; a pat of butter— and nuked it just enough to completely melt the butter. Tasty and quite attractive on the table. Guzzled some vino da tavolo while chomping it down.

Not sure what it was.
The wife fried up some bacon, then removed it from the skillet. Then fried chopped up cabbage, chopped onions and corned beef hash in the bacon grease. When done, crushed the bacon and sprinkled on top.
It was ok.

Cabbage in a skillet with bacon and onion is good on its own. Plate them together. Sounds tasty.

Red Chile Shredded Beef Tamale smothered in Nalley's "Thick Chili con Carne", a brand form my youth. I pretty much lived on Nalley's and Denison's chili for lunch at home back then. Topped with shredded white cheddar and sour cream.

Didn’t feel like cooking last night. Had two packets of instant lo-sugar oatmeal and after nuking mixed in a handful of corn flakes. Time to get out the violins. :^\

When I first came on here I thought the “What are you eating?” forum was just plain dumb. I mean, who the hell cares what we chow down on? But it has really grown on (like a fungus?) and I quite enjoy it now. It’s a treat to look at Sparks’ masterpieces and I like whatever chef Tosh posts. Quite a roster of gourmands here and I’ve even learned a lot from them. I take back all the evil thoughts about it! Lots of fun. Thanks, guys... and— good chompin’!
