Spent the day tinkering with a batch of green apple wine. Tried numerous amounts of sugar and caramel or vanilla flavoring. Wanted to preserve the tanginess of the green apple while adding a caramel flavor. Turns out vanilla flavoring works better than caramel flavoring.
Letting it set overnight. If it's tasting right tomorrow, I'll bottle it. Should get about 30 bottles.
Right now I'll drinking the rejected tests. Can't let it go to waste.
I prefer a bold dry red, but my wife and friends love my caramel apple wine.

Yes they do. I drive a 10 wheeler, 46,000 GVWR. When my brother worked for the same company in Montana he had spider chains… I wish I did. That is cool. I think tires chains are still legal in Illinois, but they outlawed studded tires in the 70's. I remember having to take a pair of pliers and pull the metal studs out of a pair of studded tires around 1975.

Holy crap, Batman! Got home tonight and decided to try out part of the contraband from New Mexico that I brought home. I dropped a 5 inch shell in the mortar tube supplied (Black Cat Neon Diablo 5 inch shells)...covered the neighborhood and the report set off four or five car alarms. I have nineteen more and some other assorted goodies. I may have to find an alternative launch site...I get along well with my neighbor, but he has expressed his weenieness towards fireworks in the past that are actually fun. Maybe I will drive to Ron or Brad's...common sense folk. Industrial grade fireworks are cool!

Good thing it wasn't Asian Carp. Those things would come right through your windshield. There were no tornadoes reported or indicated by radar, so I don't see how anything like that would be in the sky.

I was looking for cherry bombs or M80s, but I guess those are out of style.

All I saw was M-100's I used to buy M-1000's in Sf Chinatown...then things were pretty crazy. Always best with a delayed fuse, as you don't want fingers pointed when the ATF shows up....I took out a small tree with one.

They had a box called the Godfather that had about 1 of everything. $795, 6' tall and 3' wide. Supposed to be a hour of continuous oohs and ahhs. I spent $31.

I once had access to a 12-pound Napoleon but couldn’t swing the powder cost much less the ball. Dang.

Snow in the next few days forecast for here. Tomorrow night forecast temp low is -12 degrees Fahrenheit.
I will be surprised and delighted if snow actually falls here. Usually it is commandeered by the Texans in Red River. They get it in feet!

That $6 powder was when you were with General John Bell Hood and they boys from Texas?
