Beautiful pipe, Ken...enjoy it for many years! We are gonna have to start a thread of all the owners of Ron's pipes. Great idea Walt! I took the liberty of creating one: thebriarpatchforum.com/thread/9403/show-off-rdpipes

The threads about tobacco legislation and the scarcity of Latakia are sufficiently alarming that I've a pound of Sutliff 526 "Old Professor" on the way.

Be still my heart. There's a box in my den that says "Esterval's" on it.

It's a sturdy box and well sealed, so it's actually in pretty good shape. It seemed to spend most of the past 2.5 months just sitting around somewhere, so maybe I shouldn't be surprised by that. But it's here! Contents include several HU blends: Janneman Flake Dockworker Flake Haymaker Flake Sunset Flake My Red Fox Out of Africa Also some Cabbie's Mixture and Skiff Mixture, Tordenskjold Slices, and Vauen No.14 Virginia Flake.

On the bright side, it has a little age on it now. You're a real "cellar is half full" kind of guy. Just being a smart arse. I know how bad it sucks to wait for something to arrive. I have so many parts on order that I won't see for a couple months because everyone is behind because of Covid. I just got a set of elements for a fryer that I ordered in January.

Was that the order that crossed the Atlantic, like, 3 times?

Was that the order that crossed the Atlantic, like, 3 times? Not to my knowledge. It's the one that was shipped, was delivered back to the shipper a couple weeks later without having ever left Germany, was shipped again, sat at some airport in Germany for something like 2 months, arrived in NYC, sat there for another 2 weeks, then came to me.

A second shipment of tobacco is headed here ,from Heabar, all burley...some P.S. toasted 312, and I think 702. I put some jars in the dishwasher this morning. John's been great to deal with and does a top notch job shipping and handling!

Seems to me this is happening more frequently to you then the rest of us put together. What gives?

Shipping from Germany is the worst. everything takes at least a month. Italy can get it to Texas in 8 days.

urbino Whew! I'm glad the box arrived, finally. I was compelled to pad the cellar with another pound of Sutliff VA Slice, and another of C&D Night Train. I added some repeat tins of Uni Flake and Erinmore Flake, just because. Also added GLP Windjammer --it looks like something I would enjoy. I also thought that about Pennyfarthing, but I was mistaken on that one.

Ordered a cheap temperature gun. It's supposed to measure from -50 to 750⁰F. Just something cheap made in China. Where I used to work these cost a small fortune.
I'm going to anneal brass rifle casings - so I only need to know if I get above a minimum temperature and stay below a maximum temperature. Some places it says minimum 600⁰F, others say 700⁰F - and don't want to exceed 800⁰F I believe.
I'll research it better beforehand. I think the instruction book for my annealer has the specifics.

Yeah, I've had 2 shipments from Italy get here in 3 or 4 days, during the time I've been waiting on this one. Haven't had problems from Denmark or The Netherlands, either. I thought the Germans were supposed to be great at making the trains run on time.

I've got some Evening Flake in my shopping cart right now, deciding whether to pull the trigger on it or not.

It came back in stock and I lined some up and it was out again when I went back. It's available elsewhere than where I was ordering, but it seems popular.

I think tobaccopipes might have it.
