Watched Polor today. Violent and unrealistic. Then Security with Antonio Banderas, more of the same.

Well then let me correct that to there may be a part two. I am not that close to this film but it was written to take two films to cover the book. That I do know.

That looks as bad as Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter. The Lincoln book wasn't bad. Very imaginative. And you thought Old Abe was only tough on Secessionists!

Watched a couple of B horror movies for Halloween. Otherwise, really haven't watched any feature films.

Arab Blues (2019) - Good story, great setup, wonderful actress, directing could be better.
Halloween Kills (2021) - Good editing and soundtrack but everything else is really bad. I hadn't seen such a poor Blumhouse production in a while. Michael Myers somehow comes across as the smartest, least annoying, and best developed character in the movie. Terribly written with lots of gaps in logic and whole dialogues repeated almost verbatim by the same characters. Just avoid avoid avoid.
Bye Bye Morons (2020) - Every French film cliche you can think of put on screen. A fun romp.
No Time to Die (2021?) - Applause to whoever chose Lea Seydoux and Ana de Armas' costumes. De Armas' dress alone deserves its own end roll credit. Villain is fine, Bond is fine, plot is good enough and the lack of political oversight with regards to international military encounters are as absurd as always.
Dune (2021) - Lots of atmosphere and you can really see where they spent the budget but it still strikes me as an unfilmable book.

"Western Pacific Agent", 1950.
A good example of the "B" movie. PLenty of action and interesting characters. Perhaps the last movie with Morris Carnovsky, one of the original Method Actors. He was denounced by both Kazan and Sterling Hayden the next year. In this case, Mo actually was a member of the CPUSA.
Railroad movies are a sub-genre I am fond of and this one packs the punch of a .38 Special fired from a Colt Police Positive. LOL!

A two episode series on Acorn Joanne Frogatt is a pretty good actress, the guy that played lead detective was equally good! m.imdb.com/title/tt0772124/

"Kronos", 1957.
A large walking storage battery first attacks coastal Mexico and then moves on towards Los Angeles.
Fortunately, the big brains at "Lab Central" figure out basic DC polarity.
Good use of stock film footage including a B-47 with RATO Boosters taking off from Edwards AFB.

We watched "Red Notice" last night on Netflix. It will seem new to those who are under 40 and haven't seen Raiders of the Lost Ark. Not a bad way to kill a couple of hours. Duane Johnson and Ryan Reynolds do the same mugging for the camera as their babysitter and semi-super hero movies. 5/10.
