The regular season is here! Games that count are being played. Fans are sitting in stadiums. Bases are being stolen, and double plays turned. Homers are being hit, and robbed. Rallies are being extended, and snuffed out. Curveballs are being snapped off, and hung. No-hitters are being completed, and falling tantalizingly short. Ninth inning leads are being saved, and blown.
In baseball, to everything, turn turn turn, there is a season, turn turn turn.

Last night I watched a youngster hit an inside-the-park home run for the very first homer of his MLB career. It may even have been the first at-bat of his career, I'm not sure.

Red Sox are hurtling headlong to their third loss right now! Ouch.

Yeah, I heard Keekay is not off to a great start for you guys. He's a fun guy to have around, and he'll hit some bombs, and he plays great defense wherever you put him, but he can't hit righties and he can't hit anybody's off-speed pitches. If he's your lead-off hitter, you may be in for a long season, sorry to say.

No politics Friends, I love baseball, Dad and I would watch on our old black and white, baseball and boxing. Now no more, MLB has gone into💩that they have no business going into. I mourn this!

Yeah, I was afraid that was going to be a recurring thing, once he hurt it. As a man who's had a bad back for about 30 years, I'm aware that bad backs rarely go back to good. Probably gonna dog him the rest of his career/life.

My sympathy to you--four spinal fusions here.
Right after we got him, he couldn't play and that worried me, knowing what we know about backs! Like, why do weverything have him!? He seems strong and able for the time being.

Cripes, Emily. That's a lot of bad back.
Dodgers win! Now 3-1 after losing on opening day. It was a zany series in Colorado, as usual.

I am with you. If they choose to limit their craft in what they do...I would watch the games. Once they choose to be political, I am done with them.

Not a major league fan or follower, but I do love my minor league Tacoma Rainiers. After a year and a half since the last game, the team tells me we'll have our season tickets soon. Looking forward to date night with the spouse.

That was a mess. It's easy to forget how important the farm system is to The Show and how much more accessible it is to a larger number of fans. I was a ball girl for a short-lived Mariners farm team on the wrong coast back when i was in high school. It was A, I think.

I just saw the Nats news. That'll be a big setback, but it's early yet. They'll just have to field enough able bodies and hang on tight.
Red Sox in a few minutes and they really need a win. I'm not sure if they will be on here because my cable company stinks this season.
Edit: Nope, no Red Sox game on TV. I'll watch the Bruins and check for a West game after.

I use MLB.tv and watch the games online, Emily. Otherwise, I'd only get a handful of Dodger games. Living in Kentuckiana, I don't think you'd be blacked out for the Sawx home games. Probably would be for the road games nearer you, though. I'm blacked out on games in Cincinnati because for some bizarre reason they consider Memphis to be in Cincinatti's broadcast area. I know there are ways around that, but I've found their effectiveness to be spotty. Anyway, just thought I'd mention the option.

I have zero love for baseball, and all the love for a private corporation standing up for what they believe in. <thumbs up>

I use MLB Network, but some of the channels aren't coming in this year. We used to get everything that isn't on another network. Gotta call cable co. They charge me enough for it. We do get blacked out of Cincinnati and also Cleveland. West Coast games should be starting and I'll see what I get to make me sleepy when I head in. Wait, this is for your cable or internet? I know I can subscribe to MLB with an app on the XBOX thingie via Internet on the television like Netflix. Maybe I will look at the cost difference if cable isn't carrying everything this year.

The Phillies are off to a 4-0 start in what has been a great start to the season for them. The bullpen will be suspect until there have been more games played but they're off and flying with only 1 run given in 4 games. Go Phils!

urbino Thanks again! That's the way we used to do it, but no longer have a compatible device. It's not that expensive, though. There's at least a dozen dedicated MLB channels we used to get on cable, but only about half that now and the rest are blank (though they still list games on those channels). Uh, oh, there's a Phanatic on board! I caught the end of the Dodgers before beddy-bye. Aaand...Red Sox finally pulled off a win last night.

Haven't really followed pro sports for a number of years but I'm really glad they are all getting back on the field. And bully for them for standing up for what's right.

Not sure who the Fightin's are fielding these days besides Harper, since they're outside our division and we haven't made any recent trades with them (unlike Emily's Sawx). Sounds like a good start, indeed. Gonna be tough to beat those Braves.
