Taylor had a night. Good to see. Sox are in the same boat, back to Houston. He did, indeed. Couldn't be happier for the guy. Very down-to-earth, soft-spoken guy who works his tail off and gets the absolute most out of his talent. Those guys are easy to root for. Keekay is that way. Well, except for the soft-spoken part. He also had a great line in his postgame interview. They asked about his somewhat awkward curtain call after the 3rd bomb, and he said, "I never look cool doing anything." I should have that tattooed on my forehead.

Heh. A forehead tattoo would make you look cool! Maybe I could give you some fashion tips...

Ruh-roh. Scherzer just got cancelled as tomorrow's starter, according to reports.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Phooey.
Tip of the hat to Houston. In April, Red Sox weren't supposed to see October, so they did well for themselves. On to 2022.

They did well, indeed. Kind of the Giants of the AL.

I'm not a fan, though I did enjoy seeing him make a couple errors the other night. I never said they didn't have good players. They outplayed the Red Sox. They are all still bums , though.

Well, that was unsatisfying, if not entirely unexpected under the circumstances. Too many injuries, and too many empty ABs by the remaining regulars. Atlanta played better. Now go get the WS, Braves. But please, for the love of god, stop with the dumb chant already.

Yup. We'll see. Lotta moving parts this off-season for the Dodgers. Could be the end of an era.
But, the urb abides.

I'd like to see more from my boys next year. There's plenty of talent in this edition of the Red Sox, with a good mix of youth and experience. The bullpen needs a revamp, but it needed it this year, too. I don't think they'll have a problem having a decent starting rotation as long as there's some stability. They've got some good pitchers that didn't get backed up when they went south early in a game. I hope they can turn Kyle Schwarber into a first baseman, cuz he sure can bat. Anywho...useless armchair speculation until April.

I'm just hoping that the Commissioner of Baseball gets a body cavity search every time he gets off a plane in Houston or Atlanta.

This thread is about the game of baseball. Other than some early political announcements from folks who didn't stick around, we've managed to keep it on the subject of baseball for 6 months. I'd like it to stay that way.

[Sigh] I tend to ignore or deflect these things when they rear their ugly head. I didn't recognize the bait this time. Yup, it's a MLB thread in a pipe forum on the Internet, not a theater in America's cold civil war.
I go smoke my pipe now. World Series T-14:00.

Game 2 soon. I usually back the AL team, but there's something about the Braves this year that I like. Astros didn't look so hot last night, either.

Losing Morton is going to be tough on the Braves. For sure. I give the guy credit for trying to soldier on. Like Curt "Bloody Sock" Schilling. I think Stros are going to take this one tonight,, but it's early for only a 3 run lead.
