On the patio enjoying some Afternoon Delight. It’s currently 104f in the shade and I’ve got my feet in a bucket to cool off.

Them temps are not unusual in the Sonoran desert this time of year but I suspect they are for you. Hopefully not a harbinger of a tough fire season.

Currently 106 degrees here. I just finished excavating a root that the stump grinder guy missed earlier this week. The shoot from the root was a remarkable 36 inches from the stump, I can see how he missed it. The two trees were cut down several months ago, what is left is a stump burning process before I proceed with the next project.

In response to your question Charlie, water restrictions are already in effect and the forests are crispy dry which equals a potentially bad summer for us.

June 27th. With cooler weather, (not a lot cooler but the briars are not spontaneously combusting now..) I have managed to load a number of bowls. haunted bookstore, c&d burley #2 and a nice bowl of regents flake in the savinelli estelli non pariel. on a positive note I am now the proud owner of an early 3k castello billiard (shape 16). in searock finish. It is a tenon style stem but I overlook the lack of an army mount or spigot with castellos. The pipe is in transit and will be a week before I hold it. I missed a shape 16 in an even earlier carlos scotti period pipe and was resigned to never owning a castello billiard until I checked rebornpipes and saw he had one on the repair blog. It is not as old as the first but 1960s/70s era so still a scotti period pipe. just a 3k versus an SC. So with lightning speed I got off an email and imagine my surprise when he said it was available. So I confirmed right then and decided to inform the bride later that day.. (my PAD had been in remission due to all the fine pipes I now own but the castello was a highly desired treasure and not over my pocket money budget so I got the paypal sent!) I look forward to having my first bowl in it. I wish this site would let me post pics directly from the phone as several of my pipes are quite nice and worth a look but for now I will just keep using words... anyhoo, have a great week!

I prepped some GH Dark Plug in a little Grabow Duke straight Rhodesian. As soon as the Red Sox finish off the Royals, I will enjoy it with a cranberry and seltzer. taiguy66 I knew it was hot out there lately, but that's crazy hot. Stay safe and hydrated.
