June 3rd. ]Anyhoo, my corncob experiment was mixed. I found the performance of known tobaccos in a cob to be "okay" I dont really notice any extra overtones or sweetness. I attribute the good smoke to the water absorption primarily. so while the hot end did fine, the stem is a cheap plastic on the order of a firm drinking straw. I quickly clenched two big dents on the underside and one big dent on top. so that is about the cost of a cigar for four smokes. to be fair, day! To be fair you can get a cob for $8 and it will last you for years. A cigar is only good for a couple of days at most. You can get the much sturdier Danish stems for a couple of dollars. I personally know pipe smokers that have thousands of smokes through a single cob.

Marlin Flake in Rattray's Canadian while fertilizing the front yard. I hope that isn't a euphemism for something involving dropping trou.

I'm smoking a Caminetto 120 with a mix I call Mellow Morning, it's equal parts S.W.R., P.S. Cube Cut, and Edgeworth RR, and mighty good with a strong cup of coffee.

June 4th. This morning is the peterson xL13 bulldog with a bowl of freshly opened penny farthing(glp) On the topic of cobs, I did notice one can obtain an actual acrylic stem which would help. I basically collapsed the cheap plastic stem with my bite in two smokes. I agree that a cob can give a lot of bowls before burning out so they CAN be cheaper than a cigar. That said, it is just for when I work on thursdays so a cigar fits the task and I just think of that as the cost of doing business. When done and at home it is back to the briars! anyhoo, have a great day!

When done and at home it is back to the briars! anyhoo, have a great day! I had this problem initially with cobs also, leaving serious indentations in the stem. I found that switching to smaller cobs, like the Pony Express, when I knew I was going to be clenching, helped a lot. The lighter pipe didn't need so much force to keep it steady in my teeth. In all honesty though, those indentations became one of the things I love about cobs. It's like a well worn pair of Birkenstocks, the stem is essentially shaped for my chompers, and the open draw allows for that bit of blockage without causing issues.

Finished off the first large jar of my Burley Legal Blend this morning. Date on the jar is 6/1/20 so it took a year. Looking forward to opening the next jar and seeing how the last year has treated it.

Started the day in the backyard, with Haunted Bookshop and coffee. Taking a break from yard chores, and thought I'd drop in for a few minutes.

You had me worried. šÆ Licking my wounds Ron. My leg injury from Afghanistan is acting up on me again and my road to recovery is going at a snails pace. Todayās the first day in almost a month I was able to walk 15 holes (up until today Iāve only been able to walk 9). Maybe next week Iāll get 18 in. Cheers brother.......š
