I’ve hunted with guys who had Brits. They don’t have the muscularity or passion of Shorthairs (IMO) but they were very pleasant dogs to hunt over. Smart and affectionate and got along with my dogs very well.

I have a new doe goat, about 14 years old, a La Mancha. She was raised with a Pyrenees Dog and has no fear of dogs, She has been very playful with my Aussie Shephard who is afraid of her, lol! Head butting! Karma is present as my Aussie has been chasing the other goats and sheep for years and is now getting full pay back.

I was curious and found this…
“The LaMancha is a dependable dairy goat, producing quality milk with high butterfat and protein over a long period of time. One of the advantages to the LaMancha breed is they can be milked for two years without being freshened. The LaMancha also has a very positive disposition It is inquisitive and loveable, easygoing and cooperative.“

It was hilarious with Raoul staggering, croaking and burping his way around the state performing and impression of Foster Brooks and Miss Sheena, off key, shrieking her lines with a Scottish burr.

So gentle with anything he picked up. He used to hunt squirrels and robins in the back yard. He got one every now and then.😔

Had a big laugh this morning. As usual, Lacy chased a squirrel up a tree as she does every morning. This morning though the squirrel ran up the pear tree. He was sitting on a limb chewing on a pear and showering Lacy with pear bits as she sat under him barking her head off.

Squirrels and rabbits seem to enjoy teasing dogs when they know they can’t get at them.

Buddy has a new Gig, now when the wife goes to Town to shop, Buddy hitches a ride, wife lowers back windows half way, Buddy sticks his head out enjoying the wind rushing over, she drives down to the Country store, turns around and drops him off in the yard, this has become a ritual, he watches her and knows when she is dressing to shop, One day I told her he ain’t gonna want to get out!😂

It’s wrenching to watch a dear friend go downhill. My buddy Jack is showing his age. He sleeps most of the day, way more than Eli. Often it takes a loud call, repeated, to wake him up to go out or take a walk. He sleeps a lot on the bed in the bedroom. Usually when I come in there he gets up and wants to know what’s going on. Now he doesn’t wake up but sleeps on with his head between his paws, oblivious to my presence. He’s also losing some of his agility and sometimes has trouble with his hind legs, as in getting up from a reclining position. That’s a very bad sign. Comes with the territory, I guess, and I’ve sure been through it many times in the past. But it still hurts to watch it coming on and knowing you can’t do a thing about it except to spoil him and give him the best days you know how to do. Nothing unique here. Doesn’t make it inconsequential, though.

This period of time and watching their decline is almost as bad as loosing them.

I see. I guess he's about on schedule, then. Doesn't make it any easier.
