Recent addition, young man walks her, she comes in yard and Buddy has a friend, over the 2 months she comes more and more. Young man has issues, needs to go to Mississippi for parole board hearing, asks if we can take her while he doing his business. We say ok, she’s 9 months old no shots, my Vet comes on my farm to do treasure hunting with his metal detector, he will bring the shots and vaccinate her.

Baby Girl, taking care of her while owner is in Mississippi, parole violation, he may not come back. Buddy loves her, they play, wrestle, and occasionally nip each other, told owner she’s yours, you come back you can take her, you don’t come back we’ll take care of her.

I am not a fan of dog fighting, bear baiting, bull fighting, rooster Fighting. (Note: I entered the word "rooster" but someone changed it to "rooster". Come on, get a grip here, eh?)
However, these pastimes have been with us since ancient times. Sadly, too many humans do not care about the pain and suffering of other animals.
I judge not lest I be, well, you know.

We "rescued" a 6 or 8 month old Jack Russell Terrier straight from an a$$hole who had bought her for dog fighting. We didn't know it at the time. He just said he had to get rid of her and that she was useless anyway. Later a police officer friend of ours said that the house we described (down in "the hood") was a known dog fighting spot. He thought she was probably used to bait the fight dogs before a fight because there wasn't a mark on her - but she was scared of her own shaddow. She would have become a fight dog when she was older, except she was too tramatized. It took her years to loose her fear of everything - but she became a very loving dog. We named her Susie. Her original own hadn't named her. She was just "girl dog" to him. She lived a fairly long life - to the age of 16.

George is ready for Christmas. Might be getting a lump of coal after stealing a Christmas cookie off the table.

Small dogs, often stolen out of yards, are often used as “bait.” Suspended over the pit so the fighter-dogs can jump up and tear at them, or just thrown into the pit to be savaged. Susie is lucky.

I don't know what she witnessed in her early life, but whenever I'd pull a gun out of the safe, she'd hide. And she didn't like it when I handled a knife either.

We got lucky when we decided to get him being I haven't had a dog in 30+ years. He was very trainable, good with people and other dogs. Very happy to have him.

Heartbreaking to see so many neglected dogs on the res…out in the snow, not allowed in the house, saw 3 dogs in 2 days that were roadkill.
I give all the ones I come into contact with, Kirkland dog biscuits.
Cept for one, he wanted to rip my gizzard out.

Had a real scare Tuesday. Jack had been sleeping, out of sight, in the hall. He emerged at noon a different dog! Anxious, trembling, shallow rapid breathing. He came right over to me and wanted to get in my lap. Wouldn’t let me get more than 6” from him all day and all night. Took him to the vet Wednesday and she agreed with my diagnosis of a mild stroke. No physical debility and navigates fine. His blood panel was normal, thank goodness. Gave me some meds for him and he slept quietly thru the night. Seems better today but is mostly sleeping which is a good thing. He is 12 years 7 months (and 19 days!) old. GSPs on average live 12-14 years.
