Great story indeed, Brad...I've gotten some heavy milage from the septic tank joke too!

Henry, our Great Dane Pup, got his prescription for Phenobarbital yesterday and we'll be starting it tonight. His seizures are averaging every 8 days and today is day #5 so we've got a few days to hopefully get to therapeutic range. The CBD never stopped his seizures but did seem to reduce the severity so that will stay on-hand as well. Fingers crossed that this beginning low dose will work. 🤞

Bring home a new member of the family from the dog pound today, he has the temporary name of Drew given by the pound, but that is going to change. 11 months, 60#, the pound thinks part bull terrier. When we went to interview the chap that my wife picked out online as a dog for her, he immediately claimed me. Super friendly, but he needs a bath. Between the two animal control facilities in Maricopa county, there are consistently over 500 dogs at any given time.

I should talk about haircuts. It’s been a coupla months since I visited the tonsorial parlor. Starting to look like something just down off the mountain.

No way Jose. Nor would I want to, he needs to stay home with momma.
Cameras in the company truck, a violation I am sure. Too hot in the truck while I am making stops. Would have to arrange hotels with a dog. If he got loose, it would be a nightmare. Would have to pack food and water, have potty stops.

Should have named him Bandit, he steals shoes, books, pillows and takes them to his crate. He is doing a good job of going outside to relieve himself.
He thinks people food means he should have a seat at the table.😂

He's on Phenobarbital now and has only had one seizure since beginning the medication. It's a very low dose for a dog his size so we've got room to increase if necessary.

This rascal is a handful! He has a lot of pent up energy, had a tough time watching a show the other night, he keeps jumping on us and become a lap dog. He is learning though, given enough time and training, he is going to be a great dog.

I went upstairs and dug a book off the shelf that I bought some years back at a Goodwill. I never needed it for Duke, he was a thick skulled American Bulldog, but in spite of that he caught on quickly.
The book is “Training you to train your dog” by Blanche Saunders (1946, reprinted 1965). She was a pioneer in dog training to the point that she was one of the authors for the guidelines and grading of canine behavior for the American Kennel Club and provided the grading system.
Leo started barking incessantly, because he was demanding to be played with even after he was shown affection, and petting.
I turned to the chapter titled “Breaking the habit of barking”, and followed the instructions. Wrap your fingers around the snout and say No! In a forceful manner.
After doing this twice, Leo became a lamb.

Unless it is Raylan Givens come to serve an arrest warrant, I am not concerned about what it is. I appreciate her telling me about it.
