My dog Lucas is the best friend I've ever had.
A welcome to That Bob Madison. Hope you enjoy the Patch. Yes, dogs are a person's best friend.

Buddy likes wife’s kitchen, shes making a loaf of bread on bread machine , look at his paws, 10 weeks old, I believe he’s gonna be a big dog! Yup. He's gonna grow into them things one of these days. Cute little bugger in the meantime.

I think most of us can say the same thing , Bob. Every night my shiba-inu sits on the left side of my recliner, waiting for me to take a seat and rub her back...the beagle, Buster, takes his place between my feet. They're the children of the house, and they know it , but don't ask them what it's like to be a dog...they don't know much about that.

Had steak tonight. Tiffany accessed her "inner wolf" and jumped up on a counter-height bar stool to get a look at what was smelling so good.

We still need more pics, oldcajun123. Pups change fast at that age.

I was luckier. The Rottie tore a 50 neatly in half and ate it. I found it later (guess where?) and took it to the bank. No problem.

Pretty sure that our rescue dog, Leo is headed for some other future. He just ripped the hose bib off the back yard faucet, so I had to turn the main off until tomorrow. He is a four legged wrecking crew that is always seeking to destroy anything he can, regardless of how much affection we shower on him. No idea on what his past was, but I cannot justify supporting his destructive tendencies.
All the puppies we raised...no problem, inheriting other people's failed critters...not cool.

Yeah, he chewed the A/C wires...ripped out the coolant lines, dug up the irrigation lines, constantly trying to steal everything he can to destroy...after we spent a fortune on bones, pig ears, etc...

Understandable decision, Charlie. You gave it a good try.

How old is Leo? Young chewers often grow out of it. A hidden “collar operator” can also work wonders.

How old is Leo? Young chewers often grow out of it. A hidden “collar operator” can also work wonders. He is a year old. Not sure what that is, we do have an e-collar on him and he responds to the vibrate mode pretty well. The problem is that you have to have the remote in hand when he does something stupid. He is really crafty at taking advantage of anyone out of sight…no way he can ever be left out of the kennel at night, definitely not leave the house without him in it. All of our other dogs were fast learners and aimed to please in short order.

I’ve broken “problem children” of fence climbing, deer chasing, bad chewing, etc, with the “hidden operator” tactic. The key is they must associate the jolt— whether spark or buzz— with what they are doing and not with you. If they think it’s you they will be home-free when you are not around. It’s the fence that did it. It’s the deer that do it. It’s the faucet that did it. Letting them associate the buzz with the controller and you is a big mistake. Just my technique, YMMV…

Leo needs to get out ... even the biggest yard with the most toys can feel like a prison. Mine are both exhibiting Cabin Fever lately from not doing our usual trips to the woods & creeks and I've lost a good shoe in the process. 😄

I agree with Darin. Jack is old enough to take it in his stride, but hyperactive Eli is finding the deep-freeze, snow, and ice hard to take. He hasn’t destroyed anything 🤞but he badly needs some extensive exercise.

The boys got their rations y’day. I “decanted” them for them today. They are happy campers. Costs more to feed them than it does for me.

Any of you guys who have dogs that are showing their age with painful hips from arthritis should know about Librela. Our Yorkie is 7 next month and she has already been showing arthritis in her hips for a year or more. The vet suggested this new medicine that is a once a month shot and after her 1st shot she is running much better.
