Jupiter has quite a remarkable look with the color of his head...pretty cool if you ask me. Yeah, hyacinth looks like a rabble rouser in that pose. Thanks, they are great dogs but can be a handful!

Here’s a shot of my two pups. In the foreground is Jupiter, a standard poodle, he’s around 9 years. In the background is Hyacinth, a pit bull rescue, she’s around 9 months. Hyacinth loves loves loves Jupe, not so much in the opposite direction. postimg.cc/4HPBHQDXQuite a diverse pack you've got there. Nice looking puppers.

Hyacinth loves loves loves Jupe, not so much in the opposite direction. When I got my first poodle in 1972, there was a non-public agreement that any multi color pups would be killed. I was kinda pissed about that, but not being a breeder, I had no influence. I tried to get a parti-poodle but I couldn't find one. Now they charge extra for them. Yours is a gorgeous dog, and I bet he wants to be your best friend forever.

Meant to ask: how long have you had Hyacinth? We acquired her in July last year. Not sure on her birth date, but think she was about 3 months at the time. So maybe a late March or April birthday? Doing the math, I guess that makes her closer to 10 months now, but the picture was taken a month ago, so she was 9 months in the image. She’s a smart girl, a bit of a project to calm her down at first. I assume there was some trauma early on. Now she’s a lovable girl but strong willed so I’ve had my work cut out.

Jupe is much larger than breed standard, and has the attitude of a guard dog. We had an older standard poodle who recently passed at 17, he was all black and breed standard in weight and temperament. My wife loves poodles, and I’ve grown to really appreciate the breed, they’re excellent dogs.

Awful! That would be high on my list of terrible things that could happen. So sorry! I keep my dogs on the Red Rock snake vaccine. The only bad snake we have here is the Prairie Rattler and the vaccine protects them well. Jack has been hit a couple of times with no bad effects. Eli not yet, and I hope never. Unfortunately the Red Rock vaccine is not effective against cottonmouths. A very nasty snake. I hope you got this one.

He could speak about a dozen words of English. Do you want a spanking? "Nooo", etc. He adopted a stray puppy and house broke him. Damn, tearing up thinking about him, jumping into my arms as I walked in the door every day, even when I worked the second shift. My wife tried to buy me a Standard Apricot, but I had to say no. To old for an energetic puppy.

I was curious so called Red Rock to ask about their crotalus vaccine. Cottonmouths are crotalids and I wondered why the vaccine was not effective for them. According to them most crotalids are blood poisoners but c’mouths carry nerve poison. So no dice. They said they are working on a c’mouth vaccine and I wished them luck. They are a good outfit and have given me much peace of mind.

Any other snake, I at least consider it, make sure it's a rattle snake and not something harmless. But never a cottonmouth.

It took Jack over a year to accept Eli even a little bit.

My slumber bunny… Eli has taken to sleeping in chairs. He has three favorites, including one rocking chair.

The last couple of days, a woman has been training her dog in the field behind my back fence. I hear them out there but I haven't gone out to have a look at the fun. Don't want to be a distraction to the pup.

My girlfriend. One of the best companions an old guy could have. Your pup could be my Sandy's twin...I love her soooo much, but she wakes my between 4 and 5 each morning just to have a talk...Buster wakes me for nature calls, but Sandy just wants to shoot the breeze.
