Voodoo Queen in the little Smokemaster Rhodesian that I put back in service last week. Voodoo Queen really sings in this pipe, but it's the only tobacco to bless the bowl in ten years or more.

november 16th. A red letter day again!. my friend who owns a cigar shop had some tobacco I never knew he had.. I stop in for a cigar with a good friend and notice two jars of pipe tobacco. Now they have been there for as long as I can remember but I never gave a thought to the labels... So I scored 2oz of esoterica margate and 2oz of esoterica pembroke. This just goes to show why online shopping is not the best way to shop. All the hubbub about esoterica got me wishing I could get some but it is not available online outside of consignment..(that is to date, not saying it can not be had but its rare). Anyhoo, just filled the peterson xl13 kinsale bulldog..with margate...so yummy.. Funny how a close friend had this tobacco yet I passed by it several times a month without recognizing what he had in stock.. So needless to say I am all over anymore he gets.. He says he is working on getting penzance but so far nothing has come up. So I am ending a great day with a bowl of rare, amazing tobacco from a friend who had the blend for years and I was too uninformed to realize I am arms distance from these rare blends.. I also notice it has about a years worth of rest so this bowl is fantastic. Hope your day is as nice!

November 16th. okay, going to gloat a bit... having some esoterica pembroke in the same pipe I had the margate.. One is ribbon, one is a thin shag. I read the only difference is conac on pembroke and none on margate. I can confirm it is true that said, I dont dont think I can convey the sweet incense character of both blends. Puts a lot of my expectations into focus. The Margate filled the edges of my nose with sweet nuances and that was after the bowl! The Pembroke has a sweeter top note but burns quite close to the Margate Jeez louise I never had such a delightful bowl!

Well, I went for a good 3 weeks? maybe without ordering any tobacco. Then the 15% Pease sale just kept sticking in my craw, and I waited until the last night of the sale...
G. L. Pease: Stratford 2oz - 2 tins G. L. Pease: Telegraph Hill 2oz - 2 tins G. L. Pease: Fillmore 2oz - 2 tins G. L. Pease: Embarcadero 2oz - 2 tins G. L. Pease: Windjammer 2oz - 2 tins
Finally grabbing all these Va/Pers of his I've never tried. I have a problem.
Having my first bowl of some rehydrated 2001 Gallaher's Rich Dark Honeydew flake in a Krisswill Danish Clipper lovat.

I I don't tell my wife how much Zach ordered. That is ill-advised! The 15 tins of Carolina Red Flake w/ Perique just showed up in the cellar recently.
Wow! This Gallaher's Rich Dark Honeydew flake is loaded with nicotine, a honey sweetness, and the Virginia's are pitch black. Seems the reviews on TR are for this as a ready-rubbed version, but I have the flake from a tiny, square tin. Unfortunately, I'd say it's a good 5 years past it's prime and a bit compromised but still rather smooth and tasty.
