ok, recent vs 5 year old Haunted Bookshop. Age gave it a more nutty & buttery flavor from the light. 1/2 way through the bowl the older stuff is very smooth while maintaining strength. Really interesting to taste the difference. My jar of HB just went on the shelf to be forgotten for a few years. Thanks @zach, really nice stuff!

Yeah, its a 305. Definitely an Italian interpretation of a standard shape. The 305 is indeed a Savinelli bent pot.

November 6th. Ah, the Fall has given some cool but sunny days and the bowls have been working perfectly. Having created an acceptable cold weather blend out of some assorted tins I had an opening for some other blends. Currently having some C&D Interlude in the Savinelli non pariel army mount billiard. As expected the pipe works well with this blend. Another growing favorite is Cobblestone Rook from the chess series.. very good flavor with any pipe. The group ride is tomorrow morning so that will be lane Q1 in the Sunday Cob. happy weekend to All!

Thank you. Lots more hoops to jump through. Things are different nowadays, there is a lot of online "onboarding" that takes place....my last three post Teamster jobs it was a real grind...especially hazmat waste...I must have had 280 hours of lessons, 80 in classroom settings though. If you have online classes though the smartphone camera feature is handy for capturing still to be used when the test comes up.

I wasn't aware the G&H took over Revor Plug, all I have on hand is Murrays, and I have been slow to pull pouches from the jar. I will have to see if Esterval's has it....if I do buy some, John Lawitzke will have to live with the guilt!

Gawith Hoggarth had been making it for years. Actually had been made by Cooperative Wholesale Society, then taken over by Manchester Tobacco, then sold to Japan Tobacco, which closed in the year 2001-2002, and then it moved to Gawith. Gawith Hoggarth had been making Revor Plug since at least around 2002.
Charlie, are you thinking of Warrior Plug?

Guilty as Charged....a nicotene addled brain, that's my defense! I have Velvan made by Kolhouse and Kopp, Warrior by Murray's, and Revor... I got my hopes up....then: Don't tell me there is no tooth fairy, I just turned 61, and I don't need no stress!

2013 McC Beacon in my Italian made Stanwell De Luxe 86. Enjoy that Beacon...I took a tin to a pipe club meeting, cracked it and it was gone! That is the only tobacco I opened at a pipe club meeting where there was no leftovers...that stuff turns people into tin crack addicts...go all Gollum on this one John, you will thank me later! A quintessential Stanwell...nice pairing.

I’ve still got 9 tins of it stashed in my McClelland hoard.
