Having some LC Va-Or in the Thursday cob. Arm's still sore, but general achiness and fatigue is lifting.

GLP Stonehenge Flake in a James Upshall bent billiard. Nice pipe Thanks. It's the smallest of my Upshalls. Decent clencher, when necessary. Still has a good sized bowl, will get 45 minutes out of it. Zach would get an hour-and-a-half!

orlik Golden sliced in a GBD Lumberman shape 1954...always return to this pipe, a fine smoker for anything Virginia. Nice to smoke a pipe after being in freezing climate for the last three days...I love The Sonoran desert!

You've been smoking that often, Pete. Had to look it up. Sounds interesting. Will have to pick up a can next order.

I honestly do not think you can go wrong with any GL Pease Blend...he is a legend in the community, and his blends are phenomenal....you might not like them all, but that would be a matter of taste. And one hell of a nice guy to sit with, a humble individual.

trailboss I agree on GL Pease blends. I've really enjoyed the ones I've tried, some more than others. I'll be continuing to make my way through the line up - while stocking up on Cairo of course!

Pete... I hate to sound like chicken little, but if you like some Pease blends, cellar up. So many of them are not "grandfathered" under deeming regulations, and will not be available when the regulations kick in. Heard it from the horse's mouth.

I'm trying to build up a nice bit in the cellar, while branching out a bit as well
PS - I've been watching the dates on the GLPease site for the ones I like, so I can hedge my bets a bit

Did some experimenting with Pease blends, too. They're all high-quality. Settled on four English styles - Chelsea Morning, Blackpoint, Charring Cross and Abingdon. Still working the non-English side. I like Six Pence, Windjammer and Cumberland a lot.

Pease once wrote that he's done if deeming regs happen.

I think my favorite Peases are Embarcadero and his Drucquer blends. Samarra and Quiet Nights would be up there, too.

I opened a small tin of Union Square fresh, and well, it was a fresh Virginia. Bought a few of the 8 oz. cans for the cellar. Favorite Drucquer is Blairgowrie. I need to go through his offerings and find a few more for variety's sake.

Smoking my second bowl of a 50/50 mix of P.S. Burley 702 and Borkum Riff Original. Fully rubbed and rested for twenty-four hours, I think the B.R is much improved by the burley. I can see why our Dads and Grandads found some value in this old blend that tastes more of prune than vanilla. I'm sure I'll find the right burley ,and just the right pipe to smoke this up with, but it's unlikely I'll buy it again. A nice change ,with some late evening black coffee.
