From GL Pease, I cellar Embarcadero, Stratford, Piccadilly, and Union Square. For all of those, I find they are best with a minimum of 12 months of age. I’ve had 10+ year old tins of all of those except for Piccadilly. Stellar.

I opened a small tin of Union Square fresh, and well, it was a fresh Virginia. Bought a few of the 8 oz. cans for the cellar. Favorite Drucquer is Blairgowrie. I need to go through his offerings and find a few more for variety's sake. I find Union Square to be extremely close to C&D Opening Night and Opening Night is slightly cheaper.

I need to go through his offerings and find a few more for variety's sake. When the time comes to pop the lid on them 8 oz. bad boys, if you have a vacuum sealer, I recommend sealing them up in weeklong smokeable portions. My tobacconist which has been practicing for 40 years has suggested that once the tin is popped after several years, the downside of being exposed to air takes a foothold quickly...jarring does not offer the same benefit. Sage advice, but I am not the source, just the conduit.

Yes, it’s one of five that I have gotten from Dan over the years. This one is a grade B. Cristiano Signature pipes are graded from A down to F. The best ones were made by a guy named Rino. They all have “Hand Made” in a Italian stamped on them. Some have what translates to Hand Made by Rino. I also have a few Calabresi pipes that were also a Cristiano brand.

Eastfarthing in the Peterson Deluxe System 20FB. Coffee on the side. I have to say that the Peterson Deluxe System pipes are noticeably better smoking than standard design pipes. The system just works. Little or none tongue bite with any tobacco, they deliver a cool, dry smoke every time. If they weren't a bit of trouble to clean, they would be perfect.

Some Peretti D-7485 in the 1974 Dunhill long billiard. More coffee on this chilly rainy day.
I agree with Ron on the Peterson systems. I cannot think of a bad smoke from one. FWIW, I use a q-tip to clean out the moisture chamber.

I avoided Peterson pipes for years due to QC issues in the newer pipes for their pricepoints, but I finally got a nice lower end Aran 106 large billiard earlier this year and it's a really great smoker. My next Pete will certainly be a bent billiard system pipe.
Was up way too late but my first smoke of the day is now some VA Perique Crumble Kake mixed with a bit of Milan's Our Carter Hall in an MM Mark Twain cob. I've been stretching this sample out for weeks now by adding stronger burleys, cutting acidity in blends, etc and I do quite like the aroma of this one. It really goes great with most stronger burley and can add a fantastic aroma to otherwise stale, strong burley room notes. One bowl of the Milan's Our Carter Hall remaining.

Be sure to make your next Peterson a Deluxe System. They give you the full benefit of the system. Not bad looking either.
