Bought our turkey yesterday, an Albertsons branded signature select that seems as good as any others.
Always a headache to put it in the fridge, the last few years we just put it in the cooler box and buy a 16 pound bag of ice.
The best turkey I ever smoked was a fresh non brined, did the brining myself, but it is hard to find a fresh non brined turkey around here.

Npthing since Breakfast.
Supper was a large can of Campbell's Chicken Noodle. I left most of the broth to cook Baby Gold Potatoes in and ate the noodles. They went down fine and not much else will!

When it comes to supermarket turkeys you are right about the brinning. Being this is Taos we can get free range, organic, unbrined, fresh turkeys. They are expensive at $5.99 per pound. The Grower is a local small scale farmer. I could not possibly eat a turkey but we used to get these nice birds. Usually a small one 12 to 13 pounds.
