Meatloaf and mashed potatoes TV dinner. It’s really good. Those recent incarnation of Stauffer's meatloaf and salisbury steaks are really good. They make one called a pub burger now too that's a bbq hamburger patty with mashed potatoes and the patty is so juicy and tender you wouldn't believe it's a TV dinner.

Fried and rotisserie chicken are loss leaders in a lot of stores, and they often do it quite well...often cheaper than raw chicken. it really becomes a no brainer to pick it up. Tip: fried chicken sandwiches are great....I discovered fried chicken sandwiches at the now Defunct K&S grocery store in Hollister California. Slice it up, mayo, onions and peppers and a bit of mustard on premium bread...they figured it out long ago before Popeye's sandwich became all the rage. Expensive here. A small rotisserie chicken at Smith's Supermarket is around $10. At Cid's Food Market, the organic roties are around $20 to $25. Fried chicken is cheaper but appears to be a large pigeon, LOL! Holy smokes that is an outrageous price! Our rotisserie chickens around here in the midwest at Walmart, Meijer, or Kroger stores run about $3-5 depending on the time of day and deal. My wife will pick one up once or twice a month and shred it up to make various pulled chicken, salads, and other dishes for a quick dinner option. $10 is highway robbery!

I priced a raw chicken at Albertson’s yesterday, $8.00.
The brisket I pulled out of the freezer was USDA prime, and I had paid $3.33 a pound a few months back.
Priced a USDA choice one yesterday, $7.00 per pound.
Having a large freezer pays for itself.

Neighbor brought over a box of produce. Really nice greens: three kinds of lettuce, parsley, shredded cabbage. Bells peppers and yellow squash. So I made a large salad with two poached eggs for breakfast.

Used a coupon for $13 for two Subway footlongs, I had a footlong Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki on Italian herbs & cheese bread, toasted, w/ spinach, onion, tomato, pickle, green pepper, mayo, sweet onion sauce, salt & pepper.
Had to check with my wife on what Meijer rotisserie chickens are going for and she says they're $6 and they knock a buck or two off in the evenings after they close down the deli.

As the snow falls, venison chili simmers on the stove, with fire roasted tomatoes and peppers, and if the wife looks away for a moment, tiny shoe-peg corn, and some extra green chilies.

Babysitting my 7 year old granddaughter… air fried Dino-chicken nuggets.
Not sure if it is actually chicken or dinosaur meat… she likes them Nacho cheese Doritos on the side, Mexican bottled Orange crush.
