Made a couple of fillet mignons in the Ninja. They came out perfect - as usual. The wife made butter & garlic mashed potatoes and garlic bread. I opened a bottle of Shiraz from South Australia to go with the steak.

Stuffed on this rainy eve. Bed soon, I think.

Had the neighbors over for a 4th of July get together. Twenty-one people showed up. I grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, Italian sausage. The neighbors brought food. We had all the usual side dishes (and then some more), beer, iced tea, water, lemonade, homemade strawberry wine, and homemade ice cream - lemon, vanilla, chocolate. This is the second year we've done this. Planning on it being a annual thing.

Thought you were gonna say “half a strip steak taken off a roadkill.” Oh, well… Nothing that exotic. I cook a large Porterhouse, when I can find one at the right price, and cut it into three pieces for three meals. Like a small roast.

Truly wonderful lunch! King Oscar mackerel filets with lemon and olive oil over Lundberg brown/wild rice with a goodly squirt of honey mustard dressing. Salt and pepper of course. One of the very best combos ever. I shall return to this often. Highly recommended.
