I’ve never made a stew for people, only for dogs. Venison, potatoes, onions, bok choy, with a mix of spices I couldn’t duplicate if my life depended on it. Added some wine to the venison juice from the crockpot. Should be “interesting.” Fear not Bob, all my recipes are that way. Once made never quite duplicated!

The prime rib came out phenomenal, it came from Excel packing that has a good reputation for quality beef. Lots of great side dishes, really love the wife’s Spinach dip with sourdough bread, carrots, and celery to dip in.
When I lifted the ribs after the rest, all of the rib bones fell off, I have never had that happen before.
Prime rib AuJus sandwiches on crunchy bread tomorrow.

Started this fine morning with moldy toast. Ate one piece and was on the second when I realized it had mold on it. Ugh! Funny thing was, my dog always shares little bits of my toast with me. She would not take any I offered her. I wish my nose was as good as a dog’s! Apparently my eyes aren’t too great either…..

Pleased to report my venison stew turned out very well. I used some Southwestern spices to heat it up a bit and it is very good. My plan now it to lay in some veggies and make a much bigger batch and freeze it in ziplocks. A good project for cold winter days. I have about 10# of uncooked roasts left to work with.

I have always bought the full Monte when buying 109 ribs in the original Cryovac from the meat packer and I never tie the roast. I told a pipe smoking buddy about the ribs falling off and he asked if it was tied, and yes it was and repackaged. “Well then the butcher sliced the ribs off and tied them up to improve the cooking”. Well that, explains that! 😂😂

The Duroc ham came out just great. Well glazed and slow baked. With sweet potatoes, green beans, corn bread, and asparagus vinaigrette as a starter. The wine served was Gerwurtztraminer grown and bottled in New Mexico. Quite the feed and I just had a late night ham sandwich. You can guess what is for breakfast tomorrow.

Leftovers and Benadryl. I have a rash that's gone from a little spot to systematic. Dermatologist is closed today. It wasn't bothering me when I went in for a checkup, but everything she has proscribed has made it worse.

In Second Mesa, Hopi reservation in Arizona… staying at the Hopi Cultural center that has a hotel and restaurant.
There are a lot of good Native American restaurants, if you know which ones are good, this one judging by the reviews misses the mark on Indian fare…. I opted for a burger and fries, it was good.
