It's 70 here, clear and sunny. We got 2 inches of rain over the weekend. Still in a mild drought.

 Yesterday farmer finished cutting my cane, big big rain last night, happy they finished cutting before the deluge, wife is buying stuff for thanksgiving, Oldest son coming over from Corpus and frying the turkeys. It’s all good I Garronte! Love fried turkey. My neighbor from Louisiana did that here one year. Set up up the burner and kettle outside as per specs. After we took him to the ER in town, we all stopped for Chinese food. He was burned good. Filled him full of Gin that night! The turkey? By the time we got home the dogs had cleaned it up off the lawn. If I ever make that there will be a tripod with a block and tackle and I will be waaaay back! |

Watching the news tonight, the cloud formation west of Washington state looks like a hurricane, and when it hits the northwest, the snow is suppose to be measured in feet.
By Friday, Montana will look pretty arctic if their predictions are right.
Snow is suppose to fall as far south as Redding, Ca.
Glad my Montana assignment is a few months behind me.

Forecast is for 8 degrees (F) overnight. Yoinks! Gonna turn chillier here, tomorrow, too, but nowhere near that chilly. It was about 25° this morning when I started still missing half a window in the door on my machine and heater fan broke so I lit a series of small warming fires in a cob. |

As the front moves through, the overnight temperature will drop to a few degrees above freezing with rain or snow showers into tomorrow. |

I got a phone call from my daughter last night. She knows that this has been a tough time for me and wanted to make sure I’m ok. She surprised my by letting me know that her, her husband and my 5 grandchildren are going to drive up from North Carolina to spend Thanksgiving with me. I am very excited.

Glad for you Scott, family is everything! I Garronte! It was a nice surprise. She wasn't going to tell me but she was afraid I would go to the cabin and wouldn't be there when she got here. And, she has 5 kids so I need to prep the house. |

When my family comes, I watch them and in my mind I see how lucky I am, all good people, one back from the war, not hurt, the other 2/good people, sometimes they look at me and say what’s wrong Dad, I shake my head and say I was just daydreaming!

GOD bless her… I bet she is a phenomenal daughter, mother, and wife. And grandchildren are pretty special, I have 5 that I see regularly, but not this Thanksgiving. Going to West Virginia for 8 days over Thanksgiving to spend time with my wife’s identical twin, and their grandkiddies. |
