Just finished a 3 mile walk with the pip. Wanted to go for 5 but apparently I am in better shape than the dog.

I know a guy here who has a cabin at 11,400. It is a real effort to walk from his driveway to the cabin. My carbureted Land Cruiser's tongue is hanging out when we get there. Beautiful country. Spruce and Bristlecone Pine. He offered to sell it to me, 14 acres including an abandoned Uranium mine. Still for sale although the cabin needs restoration. I wasn't interested till you got to the part about the uranium mine. Who doesn't want an abandoned uranium mine? Makes a good wine cellar. After a few years, the bottles probably will not need a cork screw.

![oldcdgr](//storage.forums.net/6447321/images/juvLHSbPyjgJlrDFxGym.gif) Cut 5 acres this morning, not so bad until the last half hour. Wife planted some petunias around our old pine tree by the road, she likes a little color. Got a bushog man coming to check my field out, I’ve been remiss in my duties, it’s waist high, gonna spare my old bushhog then cut it afterwards, getting old ain’t no fun.

I wish we had a Brush Hog man here. Many neighbors have them but will not help others. Just not their way. Meanwhile, I am trying to get my DR Field Mower, one of those 24 inch rotary mowers, walk behind, self propelled, loaded onto my tractor forks so it can be loaded onto my truck. I found someone in town I trust to resurrect it. Not easy for me. It is heavy and not running. Taking a rest. I get tired so easily. Chemo tired means falling down after loosing balance and coordination.

![oldcdgr](//storage.forums.net/6447321/images/juvLHSbPyjgJlrDFxGym.gif) My young bushhog man did me a bang up job, only wanted 200$, talked to the wife and made him a 500$ check, he didn’t want to take it, told him you got 3 kids treat the wife and boys for the fourth. I don’t take advantage of a hard working man, my Father taught me that!

I took that ugly and unnecessary front license plate holder off of the car today and now I have to plug up four holes. I need to measure the diameter of the holes as best I can and find screw-in plugs. I'm also going to look for some kinda paint pen to use so they don't stick out like sore thumbs.

Of course I have to overthink and research it into the ground on the internet.

Working in stages with rest in between. The mower is now on the forks and the tractor is parked so I can bring in the truck to load. Then off to town and pressure wash. It has been sitting a long time and needs to clean for the mechanic.

Big fire down to the south and my eyes are watering, and I can smell the smoke, threats of hurricanes in the coming weeks just a normal week in the swamp next to the gulf. 84 degrees just minutes from midnight.

Sitting outside watching a light rain. There's big lighting but a ways away.
Is it wrong that I sort of wish the lightning would strike the buttmunches shooting big boom fireworks after 10 on a Tuesday July SECOND?
I mean I don't really care. But folks with jobs might.

Couple of friends and I visited the Museum of the Fur Trade yesterday. This museum has managed to accumulate the most amazing collection of artifacts related to this period of American history. It deserves a lot more notoriety than it has gotten over the years it has been in existence. It also has one of the most amazing collections of firearms of the period, including the personal arms of many famous figures, such as Red Cloud, Kit Carson, and Tecumseh. Well worth a visit. ![](https://i.postimg.cc/kXmgdZzr/IMG-5237.jpg)

![oldcdgr](//storage.forums.net/6447321/images/juvLHSbPyjgJlrDFxGym.gif) WOW Bob, my Grandfather farmed and trapped, most country folks around here in the 20s and 30s did, that must have been a wonderful experience.

I follow Ashley Hlibsky on Facebook. She's an antique firearms expert and was the director of the collection at the Cody Firearms Museum. If we ever get up that way, I would like to visit both. centerofthewest.org/our-museums/firearms/

It's 98 here, today, and it feels every bit of it. Don't think I'll be going out for a smoke. Definitely not before the sun goes down, at least. In better news, I found out we're off both tomorrow and Friday. I thought it was just tomorrow. Four-day weekend!
