Confession: I'm a non-smoker. Well if we are really being honest, I am the Pope and know where Hoffa is buried.π

I smoke different pipes, randomly selected. I don't properly rotate pipes. I just grab the one I feel like smoking. At the end of the day I run a pipe cleaner through the stem and shank and leave it overnight, removing it in the morning. I also do a light scrape of the inside of the bowl. I usually have 4 or 5 tins open at a time, including English, Virginia and aromatic and smoke what I feel like at the moment. With the exception of smoking aromatics only in Meerschaums, I smoke whatever in the rest and everything in the Meerschaums.

I would sooner slowly stick a wire into my eyeball than watch or read LOTR or Sherlock Holmes with the exception of Robert Downey portrayals of Holmes.

This has to be my favorite thread so far. I feel like I know you all much better now that I know your dirty little secrets.
All my pipe smoking gear is in a tacklebox. I rarely clean my pipes aside from running a pipe cleaner through and scraping the bowl. Often, I'll smoke the same thing for a week or more. I pull my pipes apart right after I'm done, and store all the stems together in one section of my tacklebox. I've watched Coronation Street, a British soap opera, religiously for about 30 years.

I smoke cigars more than pipes now.
I always lie to people who give me aromatics to try, when I tell them it's really good.

I have tubs of tobacco and pipes, cabinets full of tobacco and pipes, boxes full of pipe cleaners, filters, tools, spare bits, and accessories. I am thinking about quiting smoking.

I'll pay for the shipping when you send it all to me. Smoking is really bad for you, and your doctor told you to quit too.

Ok, so if we're all spilling it... Got into the hobby a year ago. Started out with my pipe "box" in the cellar. Had a few different styles of tampers, cleaners, el-chepo briar, and a couple of MM cobs. Fast forward 1 year later and my box has turned into a corner in the cellar. Consisting of several boxes of various blends in many, many mason jars. Several boxes of sealed tins (I'm partially blaming Dunhill for a big hand in this, lol). Several "nicer" briars, yet more cobs (can never have enough of these for some reason??). And a Lot of cleaning supplies. I do like to do a good clean after every smoke (when cool). I've created a monster.....

If I make that decision, which is very unlikely, you will find my stuff at Pipestud's site. I will make sure that he will have a special price just for you. π€

Iβve been using filters in my pipes for years because, for me, they eliminate tongue bite. Most of the pipes in my rotation will take a filter. Several of my cobs have Forever Stems which donβt take filters. Because cobs absorb moisture I donβt have any issues with tongue bite so smoking them without a filter is a non-issue. In addition to using 9mm charcoal filters I was fortunate to find some Dr. Grabow 6mm charcoal filters but really canβt tell any difference when using them vs regular Medico or Dr. Grabow regular 6mm filters. It seems more and more pipe smokers are discovering and using 9mm filters. I used to get snide remarks or hard looks from a lot of pipe smokers when they learned I was smoking a filtered pipe. Now not so much.

All righty,,,Without naming names, there's some haters among us. I am quite fond of CBRM and just to show yous how deviant I can be, I'm going to don my chapeau and red valentine boxers.Put on my best yellow tank top with the Airosmith logo, and trip on down to Texas to dissuade a brother from leaving our fine community of missfits.(That or help smoke all his cellar, whichever is more appealing) So, Brother Ronv69 , put the coffee on and get the tubs out.I'll bring a pipe and lighter.

Did you mean to say, does a bear shite in the woods? We know all bears are Catholic. The major question, unresolved to this date, is whether the Pope shits in the woods. We have an opportunity to settle the matter for all time. Let us not take it lightly.

I've heard that phrase before and I appreciate the humour in your post. However, spare a thought for our Roman Catholic friends who may not see it the same way. Cheers

Pipe smoking secrets? Hmmmm.....
My most often used tamper is my finger, even when the bowl is lit. I find that if I press fast enough I dont get burned. That said, I have had a couple embers stick while lit. Ouch.
I clean my pipes with cheap whisky.
I do not rotate pipes, and I dont care if they get ghosted. I just grab whatever is close and I go.
