Everyone is working together right now. We are not close to a breakdown of civilization from the pandemic. We'll get through this just fine, eventually. But I would definitely find some ammo before the next election. I agree. I dont feel we are even close to a societal break down. Not from this. I dont see it happening. My philosophy on self-arming is like that of a lot of other things. I dont see me suffering from a housefire tonight, but I still have smoke detectors and a fire extinguishers. We have good tires and dont expect a flat, but carry a spare. We had a town hall meeting in California where an anti gun politician called out for the need to raise taxes to support the police and fire departments (That always means they are shill to support taxpayer funded dream pensions that we cannot afford). My wife stood up and asked for a tax cut to buy our own fire extinguishers and guns...that comment was about as welcome as a loud fart during a sermon in church. We moved to Arizona shortly after that.

That crap on TV about the police arriving right after you call is bullđź’©, more so if you live in a rural area, you take care of yourself and your family. Nuff said!

When I lived in Detroit the saying was that you could get a pizza to your house quicker than the police.

“”When seconds count, the police are just minutes away”
Not a knock on the cops, it is just a logistical reality.

I recall calling our Sheriff's Department after a break in here years ago. The Dispatcher told me "We don't go to (my location). Call the State Police". Click. NMSP in Taos substation are on duty Monday to Friday only. On the weekend, they have to send a car up from Espanola and that can take hours. So, yes, we are on our own.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Extremely accurate .357, doesn’t spook my horse Jack Daniels. This horse responds only to me, my favorite Morgan. His trust is 100%!! While riding took down a mountain lion at 50 plus yards with one shot. This is considered a pistol in four States. Anybody on the Patch have the pleasure of firing this in .357 or .45 caliber?

It's considered to be a pistol in all states. It's Federal Law. I have looked for the Rossi in 44 with no luck.

It was pretty cool seeing Steve McQueen on dead or alive with a Mare’s leg, but I always figured it to be halfway between a pistol and a rifle. I would rather have a pistol on the hip and a rifle in the scabbard.
That contraption to me looks like a problem in search of a solution.

So far, no complaints. Just ordered night sights to mount.

When I’m out deep in the wilderness I carry two .45 pistols and always a rifle on my saddle. I’ve fired over 250 rounds the first day of purchase. Smooth action with no hang ups or jams. I only use high grade ammo. Would this be an everyday carry for me.....no way. It’s now one of my saddle pieces and hangs near my front door proper. Put a small target up earlier on my property with five silver dollar sized targets. Measured forty feet, made my standing point. Took five shots, one for each target. All in the black towards the center. The barrel gets hot, the next four rounds were center shots. It’s a Henry, they stand behind their products. I see no major issues down the line.

I emailed Henry about something fairly insignificent one time, and within five minutes the owner, Anthony Imperato, emailed me back. I was impressed. I want several, but I'd like the H001 .22 first.

I own a Henry.22mag for many years. Extremely happy with the quality walnut stock. Had a question so I called Henry. In less than an hour Anthony called back. Don’t you wish other companies practiced the same care with customer service. The H001 .22 is an excellent choice my friend, and the price is right👍👍

I'll always go for wood over plastic (sorry Armalite), and believe there's so many beautiful firearms out there, will have to own one of each before I own an ugly one (sorry Glock), and is why I want an H001 over a 10/22). Not that there's anything wrong with that

Wouldn't it be fun to spend an afternoon with the nimrods who wrote those  Just proves that education doesn't equal common sense. Let’s take them shooting. If their data was true, I and everyone I know would be dead 10 times over.

And to think, I was offered a scholarship for the Brown U. Rifle team and we would have shot against Harvard and no one would have been killed.

A carbine with a stock should be more accurate. A handgun on the hip will deploy faster and fire more rounds. It is a novelty and could be fun to shoot on occasion.

LOL! That guy is as bad as the guy I saw at Wal-Mart one time. He was squattin' by the beer and a baby Glock handle was sticking out of the "crack" that was showing.
Thankfully, there are no pics.

Beat-up old Beretta 92F if I'm not mistaken. He's gotta completely undo his belt to get at it. This has to be staged. Please, let it be staged.

That occurred to me but that is such a foolish way to handle a firearm, I discounted it. The more typical response to that problem would be to clear the weapon and carry in the belt, outside or inside the pants. The through the trigger guard option is just weird. Since the shorts he is wearing lack belt loops, there is no reason to wear the belt other than supporting the sidearm. I guess some people wear belts without belt loops in the hope they will hold up their pants.
