We looked for a place to live everywhere between Texas and California and the prices are so high compared to what we got. We just couldn't move to a smaller house and we could only afford an 1100 sq ft house in Yuma for instance, but we got 2674 sq ft in East Texas. Not every day is so humid and the winters are beautiful. I cannot imagine a native Texan living anywhere else. We have a heap of them in nearby Red River and Angel Fire, NM. They always seem pissed off and complain a lot about NM. Seems to me they would have been happier back home but here they are. We just make the best of it having the here.

A lot of Californian’s are visiting Arizona because they are gettin cabin fever in that state. When the wife and I went to Williams Az. (Gateway to the Grand Canyon), I struck up conversations with no less than five of them when I open carried. I explained to them the need to need to be responsible for your own personal protection. Four out of five, got it. The other guy chooses to be a victim. Several years ago I lived in an Amish community in Tennessee for awhile. That discussion came up there. They all chose to be victims. I just shrugged and went on with my business. They were not my rodeo, and that was not my bull.

We would love to live in New Mexico as you have probably guessed. Once again we just couldn't afford a decent house. We looked at some in Los Alamos several years ago and it was ridiculous back then. We almost bought a lot on the mountain overlooking Albuquerque in 79, $18k, but we couldn't ever have afforded to build the house on it. It's all built out now and the houses are VERY expensive. Our friends just paid $350k for a house in Cedar Crest and it was half the price of the other houses because it needed a lot of work and had been on the market for over 2 years. He had to spend 2 weeks clearing brush away from the house before they could move in.

I've wanted to take a look around the Silver City NV area for a while. Hear that it's still reasonable and not invaded by the California crowd (who have ruined most of the cool spots in the Western States)

Hear that it's still reasonable and not invaded by the California crowd (who have ruined most of the cool spots in the Western States) Problem is that the state of Nevada is heading left in a hurry. Individual towns may be OK for a while, but the governor might as well be a Kalifornian.

One reason why we moved to this area is because this is where the Texas revolution was formented and the people here are still very independent. Economy is shot right now, but I expect it to come back soon. Houses are selling fast. Other reasons are that we're closer to Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma for travel and motorcycle purposes."I Pledge Allegiance to the Flag, and to the Constitution for which It Stands!" 🇺🇸

Just saw on the news this morning that the libs want to make not wearing a mask a federal crime. They just want to control everyone. It's all good until you find that You have lost control.

Texas is well on it's way to being diluted by the CA hoards. There are times when I think the wall we are building the wall in the wrong spot. lol

You have to watch those Californians and their influence on communities. They spread like lice and are just as annoying. Not me, of course!! I was raised right.

Californians go other places to escape being in Cali, they fall in love with a place, then they start trying to make the new spot just like where they came from. It's the darnedest thing. They are like cockroaches.

That’s why I love my 81 acre patch, no protests, no flag burning, Cajuns only want to talk about the weather or how the crops are doing, maybe that’s why we live a little longer. Oh we have the Mormon people and religious ladies knock on our door, not so much since Buddy with the invisible fence. Ups and FedX guys have my cell, I’m on first name basis, hand out ice cream and cokes to them in the summer, it’s a Cajun code you have to serve people something that come to your house. My wife anstery is German, Dutch, Indian told me her Grandmother would serve the Highway crew working on the road coffe and rolls, when she had a stroke my wife took over.

It's all the cities, not just California. And as you can see from some of our members, it's just that strip up the coast that's 30 to 90 miles wide that ruins the state.

I picked up my Dad’s Ruger Standard (Mark1) .22LR he bought back in 1968, in response to the ‘68 riots. I’ve put it through it’s paces, and it performs admirably. Strange days, but here we are again.

A fine piece of shooting iron. The .22 is a nasty round if the it is placed properly. i ain't signing up to be a target anytime soon.

I picked up a couple of boxes of Hornady Critical Defence .44special yesterday. Ive got 3 single action .44mags in the house, from my bear days in Alaska, pressed them into service as defence weapons as well. Shweetie and my daughter can shoot them all well, and they are super simple to operate.
.44special has very little recoil in a heavy Super Blackhawk or a BFR. And they are intimidating to face

Someday I hope to be able to download some 44 mags for a slightly more powerful round. Just remember that you don't want to carry them in bear country. They are probably hell on people, but would really irritate a bear or hog.

I have my trusty Remington Rand 1911 that will clear the streets. It's a big 'ol hunk of lead.

My first gun was a new 1983 Ruger single-six .22. I loved it, but sold it at a pawn shop when my kids got old enough to use stools. Now I have a late '30s S&W .22/32 to replace it - it's a pure joy to shoot, just as the Ruger was.

Not too hot but enough to settle most "hash". I have .44 Special, 180 grain HPs. Not too sure about them.

Went out today to buy a little more ammo. No bulk ammo to be found - like 500 round box of Federal 115gr 9mm ball, or 45 ACP. Ended up buying 100 rnds of 357 magnum. (Two box limit on purchase.) Guess I'm going to have to clear off the bench and start reloading if I want more ammo.

If you can, that's sure the way to do it Been reloading 38 Special, 9mm, 40 cal, 45 ACP, .223/5.56, .308 all winter/spring. I'm in pretty good shape, and wanted to save the "makings" for a couple thousand more rounds of various calibers. But, if I can't buy more, I might as well reload what I've got. (And order more "makings".) Who knows where this is all going. Just a mile from my home, a gas station I frequent still has plywood up over windows that were smashed in the BS a couple weeks ago - and I live in a town where nothing ever happens.

I probably have a hundred pounds of brass, and a press and many of the components, but have yet to reload.
Some day, when I have the time.

I'm guessing the ATF would frown upon trading aged pipe tobacco for re-loads? lol
