He still pops in and out of one of the other places from time to time.
I havent watched that movie since I was really young, and honestly, I dont even remember 95% of it. Ill have to find it this weekend. That book is TOO big for me.

Saw "Where the Crawdads Sing" - it was pretty good. Fun fact, the author of the book, Delia Owens, grew up here (Thomasville, GA)

"The Hunter", a 2012 movie with Willem DaFoe and Sam Neil. Filmed in Tasmania. A corporation sends a hunter, DaFoe, to kill the last Tasmanian Tiger, a thought to be extinct species. Reasons unclear. Tragedy befalls. Perhaps one of the most depressing movies I have seen in a long time. Worth watching only for the views of Tasmania which is much more mountainous and even Alpine than I thought.

Yep, it's depressing. It shows that people are usually idealized in the movies. In real life plenty of people suck It's OK so long as they feel good about themselves.

Watched 3 movies from Stieg Larsson's "Millennium" series - the Swedish movies, not the American. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo The Girl Who Played With Fire The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest
The first and third movies were pretty good. The second was OK, not as good - but it sets things up for the third. Not something to let children watch though.

Definitely not kiddie fare. Maybe Disney will re-make it.

William Defoe is now hawking Social Security supplemental coverage. I guess he is less irritating than JJ Walker though. NOW! Even my granddaughter is sick of JJ’s nonsense.

Never, ever, will I evaluate an Actor on intelligence. Most of the good ones are savants. I have known some. This is not being critical of them. They have a unique talent which is not easily understood. Then there are the ones such as Lawrence Olivier who are broader intellects. Mostly, they seem self involved and a little strange to me.

We just re-watched The Legend of 1900. It's a beautiful Italian movie from 1998 and it didn't really get much attention. It's about a guy who was born on an ocean liner and lived on it his whole life.

But they are excellent, as were the books.

I find it hard to believe that people can be as awful as they obviously are. We are so blessed.

Even with surplus Blonds, Aquavit, Erik Cigars, Lutefisk, Rye Bread, Carlsberg Beer. Creepy!

SO much better than being born at an airport and having to spend ones whole life there although some do, I guess.

Personally, I always make an effort to ‘leave out’ rotten herring whenever possible.

Personally, I always make an effort to ‘leave out’ rotten herring whenever possible. I once had a Norsk neighbor next door. Tona! She was a trip. Her and her Svenska friends would prepare Christmas meals for us all with the all the trimmings and that included Lutefisk. Actually edible when done right. The two gals, used to argue about the recipe. The Svenska Flika wanted more bacon fat.

"Siberian Sniper", 2022. The Russians love movies about the Grat Patriotic War with the Germans the way we love Westerns. This one is good. I think "T-34" i the best I have seen so far.

Yes, and they’re so obsessed with “Nazis” that they find them everywhere. (Kanye West would no longer be welcome in Moscow!)

Just watched "Elvis" on HBO - the new one. Interesting. Tells the story about Elvis and Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis' manager - who apparently was quite the con man.
